Who was the first woman to race a motorcycle?

The first woman to race a motorcycle was Dorothy Levitt. She was a pioneering female driver who set the world speed record for the flying kilometer in 1903. Levitt was an Englishwoman who gained fame for her automotive and aviation accomplishments. She wrote a book in 1903 titled 'The Woman and the Car', in which she encouraged women to learn to drive and race. In the same year, she set a new land speed record of 91.37 mph and became the first woman to race a motorcycle. Levitt's success in motor racing inspired a generation of female racers and she remains an important part of the history of motor racing.
